WELCOME TO BIOSPHERE

BIOSPHERE Certification, sponsored by the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), recognize and certify touristic establishments that have a sustainable management and, therefore, they are examples of sustainability in the international tourism.

Destinations, Enterprises, Establishments and Tourist Products have assumed the sustainable touristic management model promotes by the Responsible Tourism System, which is acknowledged publicly through the BIOSPHERE label.

BIOSPHERE is a voluntary certification based on the principles of sustainable development. The BIOSPHERE’ standards have specific criteria on environmental, cultural and socioeconomic performance. The label is granted to establishments in different countries around the world.

Responsible Tourism Institute is a non-profit organization sponsored by UNESCO and it’s a member of the UNWTO and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), which has supported by the United Nations Foundation and the UNEP.
