Alentejo continues working to become a Biosphere Destination

Alentejo will be soon a Biosphere Destination, member of the Biosphere Destination Community.

The Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, in Portugal, began to invest in the Sustainability Rating of the entire Tourism Value Chain in 2016, which now will soon lead to the Certification of the Sustainable Tourism Destination of Alentejo and Ribatejo.
Nearly 50 hotels have already been certified by the International Standard of Biosphere Hotel, beginning this November a new stage of the process with the Certification of 51 Rural Tourism Accomodations.
The presentation seminar for the new phase of the Destination + Private Sector Qualification Project will take place on November 28 in Évora, and will be attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Government of Portugal, Tourism of Portugal, Booking.com, Olimar, and Tourist Promotion Agency of Alentejo. Biosphere Portugal and the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo will be co-organizers. Certification success stories will also be presented at the event in Alentejo and also in the center and north of Portugal.
