Guanajuato City wants to bet for being a Biosphere Sustainable Tourism Destination.

Mexico has started it's way towards sustainable management. To do so, Biosphere Responsible Tourism certification provides a methodology, objectives and indicators for compliance of the internationally accepted GSTC criteria, a certification that helps intrduce the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals in to the tourism industry.


On Thursday March 3, representatives of tourism and culture of the city of Guanajuato, met with the Director of the Institute of Responsible Tourism, Patricio Azcárate, and representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, to analyze pathways of empowering and promoting sustainable tourism products from an integrated approach, creating a circle of generation of policies, actors and sustainable experiences for tourists and residents.
