This second edition of the PIB International Webinar Series, on the future of the global tourism industry; a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic development, has featured RTI's vision for the adoption of more sustainable consumption and travel patterns.

PIB International Webinar Series, organised by Politeknik Internasional Bali - the professional higher education institution for the training of Bali's tourism stakeholders - is an annual gathering where experts and academics from around the world discuss and share best practices from tourism's past, current issues and future challenges and opportunities.

This year's 2023 edition, under the theme "The future of the global tourism industry; a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic development", the webinar was attended, among other personalities, by the Vice Governor of Bali, Dr. Ir. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, M.Si., the Senior Country Director Indonesia of Agoda International, Mr. Gede Gunawan, the Technical Coordinator Regional Department for Asia & The Pacific UNWTO, Ms. Christine Brew, and the General Secretary of the RTI, Mr. Patricio Azcárate Díaz de Losada.

PIB International Webinar Series aims to provide insights, raise awareness and catalyse discussions for tourism stakeholders facing current and future opportunities and challenges. In this second edition, sustainability featured prominently in the thread of discussions and presentations, as a key part of tourism stakeholders' ongoing efforts to recover their multidimensional ecosystem in the aftermath of the pandemic.

As we know that the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the functioning of the industry, tourism stakeholders must now adapt to build a more sustainable industry, and certainly the different talks given throughout the seminar have shown, from the different visions of the invited personalities, the new regulations, innovative practices and new approaches needed to ensure that the future global tourism industry drives a more inclusive and sustainable economic development.
