Aldeias Históricas de Portugal Biosphere Destination maintains for the third consecutive year the Biosphere Certification and continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement with its Cycle 12 in Network - Villages in Celebration project.
The Cycle of 12 Networked Events - Villages in Celebration! organised by the Biosphere Destination Historical Villages of Portugal with the support of the Association for the Development of Tourism, is undoubtedly a magical event, full of culture, legends and customs that every year proves to be very popular with the public.
The initiative aims to celebrate the tangible and intangible heritage of the Historical Villages of Portugal through a cultural programme that allows visitors to enjoy different experiences such as theatrical visits, workshops, live music, performances, sensory installations and original artistic creations. And of course, they will be able to enjoy its best gastronomy! All this with a presentation that nods to the ancient times of this beautiful place.
In furtherance of its commitment to sustainability, with this event the destination is promoting the objective of boosting and promoting the economic recovery of the territory, thus standing out as a best practice project that can be carried out by the administrations to achieve the targets of the 2030 Agenda, specifically framed in the SDG 11.
This year, Cycle 12 in Red-Aldeas en Fiesta will remain open from June to November, although with limited capacity due to the measures adopted because of the pandemic. Thus, participation and attendance at the event will be subject to prior registration and totally free of charge, and the event can also be enjoyed from anywhere in the world via streaming.
