Sustainability and digitization: Tenerife's future strategy

The Cabildo de Tenerife launches a 23.1 million plan to relaunch tourism in Tenerife

The Cabildo of Tenerife has presented a plan, endowed with 23.1 million, to relaunch the island as a smart and sustainable tourist destination from the next winter campaign.

The presentation has counted with the presence of the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, the rector of the University of La Laguna, Rosa María Aguilar; the president of the Responsible Tourism Institute, Tomás Azcárate; the president of SEGITTUR, Enrique Martínez Martín (who intervened through a video); the insular director of Tourism, José Gregorio Martín and the chief executive officer of Tenerife Tourism, David Pérez.

The program, with 90% of the actions already underway, allocates 11.1 million to investment, of which 8.8 million are destined to marketing, communication and promotion; and another 12 million to improvement works in tourist spaces also included in the recently approved pact for economic reactivation of the island.

Without a doubt, this is a firm commitment to the competitiveness of the destination, ensuring that tourism not only contributes economic value to society, but also helps achieve the 169 goals of the 2030 Agenda.
